Installing XP on a Netbook from a USB Flash Drive

Netbooks don't come with DVD-RWs, so how do you reinstall XP without a DVD rom? You could go out and buy a USB external DVD-RW, but you can also use a Flash drive. You will need a few things, a Flash drive with at least 1GB of memory, 1 XP Installation disc, and some files that will be presented on the site later. I would suggest printing the instructions out before starting the installation. For instructions go here: [CLICK]

Windows 7 Starter Edition Comes With Limits

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's CEO has confirmed that the starter edition of Windows 7 will be limited. The started edition is expected to end up on netbooks that normally only have small screens and low-powered processors.
At Microsoft's annual financial analyst day, Balmer described the limits computer makers must accept if they want Starter installed on their machines. Starter has fewer features than the other Windows 7 editions. Starter will not be sold directly to consumers or businesses, it will be available only to OEMs, such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba. Read More Here.

I really enjoy this little mini! I got it for its lite weight, small size and portability. It quickly surfs the net, watches videos and movies with out a hitch. It also does a great j0b for my blogging. Has built in Wireless and a webcam. For as small as it is, it's very quick. It has plenty of hard drive space, 160GB. Vga Out to hook up to an external monitor. I plan to pick up an external DVD-RW. This thing stays very cool to the touch. It does what I need it too, not only surfing, but runs Office 2007 and OpenOffice smoothly. I got the system for $329 with no tax. I must say that I am very pleased with this mini. It takes some time getting used to typing on such a small computer, but you will learn quickly I love the widescreen for movies and such. I wish it had an S-Video out so I could hook it up to my TV, but that's not too important. I have other laptops that can do that. When Solid State Drives come down in price, I plan to replace the standard hard drive with one, making it even faster. I would recommend this Mini as a secondary Laptop or if you have a desktop. I give it 4 out 5 stars. All and all for the price. it's an excellent Mini. aif you have any comments or questions pleae feel free to post!
